Restaurant Review - Philadelphia

  • Redstone - Plymouth Meeting, PA
We went to Redstone in Plymouth Meeting, PA to try out their food. After ordering a couple of their appetizers and their famous canyon flat bread, I am giving this restaurant  ** stars because of two reasons.

1. Their service was very slow. There were not a lot of people at the restaurant during the time we went yet their food took 45 minutes to arrive.
2. We ordered what the waiter recommended, the short rib flatbread and it was not impressive at all. It was bland and dry. The flatbread also arrived to our table, cold. Unfortunately, this will be the first and last visit at Redstone.

  • Saffron Indian Kitchen – Bala Cynwyd, PA

Interested in making chicken tika masala or curious on what it is? Chicken Masala is tandoori chicken tenders cooked in a delightful delicate, tangy and spicy paprika sauce. We’ve tried making this at home but we find it so hard to get that bright orangy/red color. This dish is definitely difficult to make. Time consuming and measurements needs to be exact. Recipe: Chicken Tikka Masala

  • We also love to have all their:
 1. Appetizers: Samosas- Homemade turnovers stuffed with diced potatoes and peas, flavored with spices.
2. Papri Chaat-  Lentil wafers topped with chick peas, potatoes yogurt, tamarind and mint chutney and sprinked roasted cumin. Recipe.Recipe
3. ( My favorite) Chicken Kathi Roll- Thin Indian home made bread wrapped around charcoal grilled tikka with sauteed onions, tomatoes and blend of spices. Recipe.
2. Dessert:Ghulab Jamun-  Hot cream dumplings dipped in sweet rose water syrup. This dish is super sweet. They serve it hot that it melts in your mouth.

Percy Street BBQ – Philadelphia,PA

  • Good morning biscuits!I hope this can bring smile in your day! This is by far the best barbecue I have had in 25 years of my life. It is pretty serious. Mitchell and I have been looking for a good barbecue place. We found this accidentally in one hungry night in South Philly. We were driving South Philly and found a parking spot close Percy's accidentally.  Since I am ALWAYS in the mood for barbecue, we decided to try it out.We didn’t have a reservation so we had to sit in the bar because the restaurant was full. Thank god we didn't because we got to meet the friendliest bartender ever! He’s name is Max and he’s super friendly and gave us free things to try out which made me like him even more!  We got what he recommended, Philly cheese fries and some smoked brisket. The smoked brisket was THE Best. It melts in your mouth and it is so juicy. We got pecan pie for dessert and a root beer float. If you are in the mood for root beer float and some alc % mix in it, this is the place to go to! They also have a great selection of beer, the workers have a great knowledge of what beer they have, so if you have a question, don’t be afraid to ask! We went again this past weekend and we tried their platter. It has bbq chicken, smoked brisket, pulled pork and 4 sides (coleslaw, potato salad, beans and collard greens) Let me tell you, their beans are awesome! I couldn’t stop eating it!.I love this restaurant because their food is as good as their service.
